Corvette XP-819 Prototype with a Layout Engine at The Rear

It is natural that the new Corvette is being developed by Chevrolet is now rumored to use a mid-engine layout. Because the idea has appeared and it can be proven.

Look at the figure's prototype XP-819. Cars made only in 1964 has the engine position in the exact center of the vehicle at the rear of the driver.

History records that the idea behind the Corvette engine is not accepted and the XP-819 was finally 'mutilated' into several pieces and stored in a garage in Daytona Beach.

Once saved over the years, the vehicle is finally restored. Although it is not yet completed, Mid America Motorworks as the owner wants the prototype was exhibited at Amelia island Concours d'Elegance 2013.

Corvette engine behind it will be exhibited as a chassis that can be driven by hope as complete vehicle restoration, could return following the prestigious exhibition event next year.
