Toyota revealed Tuesday an updated version of its TS030 Hybrid LMP1 challenger, which will fight for top honors in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and FIA World Endurance Championship this year.

Based on the results of last year, Toyota TS030 Hybrid experience improvements in many sectors. Toyota Engineers prepared race car to fulfill the regulations that will be implemented by 2014. They fine-tuned in the sector the engine and transmission, chassis and aerodynamics to improve power, efficiency, management and use of component durability.
Toyota Motorsports GmbH (TMG) Germany set up two units Toyota TS030 Hybrid. The first car with the number 7 driven by Alex Wurz, Nicolas Lapierre and Kazuki Nakajima. Then the second car with the number 8 driven by Anthony Davidson, Stephane Sarrazin and Sebastien Buemi.
"The most obvious target is to fix small problems we encountered last season," said Toyota Racing technical director Pascal Vasselon. "Last year the car's performance is satisfactory and we think there should be no change in the concept, simply perform the optimization only," he said.
Toyota Racing Hybrid has 530hp 3.4-liter V8 engine with a super capacitor that can provide up to an additional 300 hp. The addition of power was accompanied by improvement of the aerodynamics to improve performance.
